Tips for Living In Cold Weather

Chicago temperatures have dropped and that means we have to be mindful of keeping ourselves safe will staying warm. 

  • Do not use your stove or oven for heating your space. This will run you the risk of releasing carbon monoxide gas. 
  • Insure your carbon monoxide detector is functional. This can be your first line of defense in preventing tragedy.
  • Space heaters should have a 3 foot clearance around the entire unit. Do not keep anything near your space heater that can burn or melt, for example: bedding, clothing, papers, magazines, plastic items and furniture
